The Gallery of Victoria Hall Exhibit
November 17th to December 10th 2016
"Photography is about capturing the special moments in our lives that seem to pass us by all too quickly. The ability to freeze time allows us to cherish these moments forever”.
For this exhibition, I have used photography as a means to document aspects of Oaxaca, Mexico’s urban landscape. I took pictures that call attention to things that other people might overlook. This exploration helps me engage more deeply with where I am in space and time. My choice of subject matter often comes from a place of intuition inspired by the contrast between light and dark and bright and bold colours. My goal is to make captive images that draw viewers into the now. I am inspired to record the moments we sometimes lose to memory.
Images taken while I was on a Photography Tour with renowned Canadian Photographer Richard Martin last year. Thank you for your inspiration Richard!
